Frosty Friday Morning local road ride

Woke upto a hard overnight frost yesterday and the sun was trying to get out so I decided to take the Super Evo Nano Black Edt out for a spin. Not that the road conditions were the best but after looking at all the bling road bikes in Push Bikes and Wheelbase it was a shame not to give it a spin. I decided to just stop local and headed over to Finchale Priory, Great Lumley, West Rainton, Low Pittington, Sherburn Village, Sherburn Hill, Ludworth, Little Town, High Pittington, Easington Lane, Hetton, East Rainton, Fencehouses, Great Lumley, Chester Le Street, Petlon, Grange Villa, Holmeside, Pelton Fell, Park View, Chester Moor and back home - just under 42 miles with 3000ft of climbing. As you can see in the photo opposite the back lanes were still very icy first thing but the main routes were all gritted. As for the sun well that was very hit and miss and there was a strong chilling wind which made it feel very cold on the ascents and shaded sections. The bike performed without a hitch and the new Mavic tyres never skipped a beat. The only thing that was struggling was me! too much rich dinning during the holidays. Calling in past Cranston's food hall for nearly £30 of meaty goodies on the way home on Wednesday has not helped either but they do have many award winning sausages etc. Below are a few photos from the ride. More soon -
