Day out at Whitby inc beach riding of the Beargrease's

Time for a day trip out down to the seaside town of Whitby. Due to the gale force winds our planned ride along the Cinder track were cancelled but me and Angus still managed a ride from the West Cliff down into Whitby, onto the beach. From here it was a full on 50mph gusts of headwind in soft sand along to Sandsend. It was low tide so we rode to the jetty and up through the car park, then pushed up the steps onto the old line. We continued along the old line until we got the lunar landscape as I call it. Had a play about there but not too close to the edge as the wind was too strong then a ride back to Whitby along the beach as the tide was still out. This time we had a tail wind but not as much as we thought, it was still slow going in places. Back to the town then a climb back up to the West Cliff, changed and time for the chippy and a walk around the town / 2p slot machines! As you can see in the photos it was overcast but warm if you could shelter from the wind. Cracking day we called in past Westys on the way home !
