Easter Hols Part 2 - Peebles / Glentress mtb'ing

Second Part - some cycling now. There was a small break in the weather forecast on Tuesday, it was going to be dry up to 11am. We were up and out along the cycle track to Glentress early doors. It was overcast, massive tailwind, very cold but no rain. We all cycled up to Buzzards nest taking in the log / skills sections but once we reached the 1/2 way point it went very dark and there was a dusting of snow on the ground. By the time we had reached the last black log section it was a complete white out. We had to try and shelter behind the porta loos from the blizzard. After 15mins or so it eased up so made a dash for it. Me, Angus & Arran did the red loop whilst Jane did the top green, skills and some freeride tracks (one dot level!). On our diverted ride up to Spooky wood there was a good covering of snow and it was minus -3 degrees with poor visibility. On the way down we lost the snow but the trails were soaking wet with massive puddles. Once back down to Peel Centre we met in with Jane after she come back down the blue. We had a quick look around Alpine bikes before heading back to Peebles on the cycle track. We were freezing cold and wet with a headwind all the way back in. Once in the town it was time for a re stock at butchers and a ride back to base. We were nearly back, it went dark again and the heavens opened and that was it for the rest of the day.
