Last weekday ride on the Bowman Pilgrims

I had planned on riding my Beargrease today but with the heavy morning rain forecasted I thought the lines might have been too wet/muddy so took the Pilgrims for some road then if the lines had dried up drop onto them for a while. The rain never really came to anything so decided to head out along the old line to see what it was like and there was only damp sections through the shaded wood parts. If fact the sun even came out and was 20 degrees on the Garmin but by the time I got to Langley Park it went very dark with some spots of rain and strong winds. That did not last long and sun came back out again but still the strong winds. I did a few extra miles before heading back and reached Hownsgill viaduct where it is always windy. Durham County Council have also been laying some new surfaces on junctions at both sides of the Cottages down from Delves Lane (see photos below).
Make the most of tomorrows weather as its going to chuck down all day Sunday with local flooding forecasted!
