Local offroad ride upto Knitsley - ride of two halves

Me and Arran set off on our mtb's up the old railway heading towards Consett. From the start we had a 20+mph head wind and it never stopped. We were feeling it by the time we got out of Lanchester and up past the farm. The temperature on the Garmin was reading approx 5-6 degrees!
We called in past Knitsley farm shop for some food / drink in the cafĂ© on the way back and I bought a coupe of items from the shop on the way out. On the way back we were praying for a tailwind and we got one. It was fantastic going on the way back with the strong tailwind and the sun shone all the way home. The temperature had risen to 12-13 degrees. The lines were quiet with only a couple of cyclists out, a couple of horse riders and a few more walkers / dog walkers. We also passed quite a few runners pounding away - more than walkers for some strange reason.
Time for a tyre swap on the Beast of the 'N' East when I got back in, winters off and new summer's on. Below are a few snaps from the ride, more soon - enjoy the trails / roads out there.
