What a week it has been & a lovely snowy walk into Durham today.

A couple photos of Harrogate from last Saturday, Bettys was quite but it was early on. I also forgot to mention when we were looking around the Specialized bike shop they had a frameset hanging up with a pair of bars and stem fitted to show off the new Sram Red Etap shifters & mechs. They were not working but its the first time I have seen etap in the flesh. The mechs are a lot smaller than I thought and looks a very neat small compact groupset.
Back onto this week, what a week of lashing rain, strong winds and cold temperatures. I was over on the coast on Tuesday and it was real foggy as well. Only had time for a quick 1 hour walk on Wednesday night & a 1 hour walk on Thursday at teatime. No biking but hopefully drag the winter road bikes out tomorrow if the ice is not too bad! The gritter's were out this morning and one was flying past our main road at 6.30am. We had to go to Durham for some banking and more bits n bobs so clad ourselves in Goretex and headed off down to the city centre in a blizzard and freezing temperatures. Once into Durham the weather cleared up a little and the sun was trying to come through. Shopping done we headed back home but called in past Crook Hall Gardens cafĂ© for a quick cuppa before tackling the climbs back home. The sun was blazing away and soon warmed up before it went very dark again and the heavens opened with a hail storm this time! the tracks and fields are very wet, muddy and flooded around here! All in around 6.5 miles of very quiet trails. A few pics from today and hopefully more tomorrow of some biking for a change ;-)
