Early Sunday morning local gravel / tramac ride on the Norco Search & Bowmans Pilgrims

After Thursday's ride me and Jane also went out for a 2 hour walk, Friday a walk after tea for 4.6 miles then yesterday a walk down to Durham and back for some shopping for 6.5 miles followed by a session of car's / van cleaning and many other jobs. Today it was bike day for a change so me and Angus was up and out before 7am on the now called "road plus" Pilgrims and "adventure" search. I have swapped the stem on the Norco back to the 100mm and the reach was a lot better. Fitted an ass saver mud guard. Apart from that I have not changed / altered anything and is running perfect. The Pilgrim needed the saddle lifting for Angus's longer inside leg, 1/2 turn on the rear mech cable adjuster. When we got home we also noticed that we had fitted the 23c Conti 4 season tyres instead of the 25c tyres, so we swapped them over ready for the next ride. I was going to order another pair of 28c Gravel Kings but it looks like there is no 28c's left in the country at the mo. We will see how it goes off road on the 4 seasons! no problems today but had to take it steady on the more stonier sections on the old railway lines.
Back to days ride - a short road section to Bearpark farm where we joined the old railway line up to Hownsgill Viaduct then turned and headed down to Birtley then picked up the cycle land back home towards Durham. A good mix of tarmac and gravel again to test out the new Norco. The weather was ok with the temperature less than 8 degrees on the way out and 18 degrees on the way back in with a headwind as normal. With going out early in the morning the lines are lovely and quite with only a couple of other cyclists and dog walkers out first thing. When we were on the last section going down to Birtley it was busy with cyclists heading towards Consett. Below are a few pics from ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon.
