Hot ride upto Hownsgill on the Gravel Bikes

Just where has this hot weather come from? anyway time to take a 1/2 a day and go out for a warm ride out. Both me and Angus were both working over Chester Le Street / Pelton area so joined on to the old railway line and headed up towards Consett.  I was on the Norco and Angus on the Bowmans. We had a tailwind nearly all the way up and was cool in wooded sections / tunnels and was overcast at Consett so we were not in the direct sun for too long. Once we reached the A68 we turned and headed back down the old railway line. This time we had a headwind which also cooled us down but by the time we got back to Chester Le Street it was baking hot again with the sun out. The line was very quiet with just a few other people enduring the heat! we took some photos on the way back down, enjoy and more soon. Just over 30 miles and 2hrs 19 mins. Fast enough in that heat.
