Sunday morning local Durham village's road ride

I had planned on having a drive through to Hamsterley Forest this morning for a spin out over the moors on the Beats of the East but had a rough nights sleep and was not feeling the best so - I decided to swap bikes and take out the Cannondale Evo Nano Black Ltd Edt for a loop around the local villages of mainly Durham. It was a sunny but very cold start to the ride with a low of 7.2 degrees on the Garmin and a stiff breeze yet again. Angus is working again, Jane went out for a run and then took Arran swimming so I enjoyed the peace and quite! The route took in the following villages - Framwellgate Moor, Crossgate Moor, Neville's Cross, Cock of the North, called in past the crem before dropping down into Durham, Maiden Castle, Low Shincliffe, High Shincliffe, Bowburn, Coxhoe, Kelloe, Quarrington Hill, Cassop, Shadforth, Ludworth, Haswell Plough, Littletown, Sherburn Hill, Sherburn Village, High Pittington, Easington Lane, Hetton, Moorsley, Belmont, Gilesgate, Durham, Sniperely, Newton Hall, called in past to say hello to my mum, then home. All in just under 38 miles with 2500ft of climbing and ave 14.6mph. Not too bad considering the wind and I got a puncture heading into Easington Lane from High Pittington, glass in the front tyre. Below are a few sunny snaps, enjoy and hopefully more soon -

Time to wash and degrease the bike and fix the punctured inner tube oh and was and clean the car and cut the grass etc etc
